From Pm News;

After suffering several humiliations from the executive over his trial by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for false asset declaration, the head of the National Assembly, Senate President Bukola finally had his pound of flesh.

The National Assembly on Thursday amended the CCT Act and took over control of the institution from the Presidency.

The bill to amend the CCT Act tabled on April 14 by Senator Peter Nwoaboshi had scaled a second reading at the Upper Chamber.

Senate President Bukola Saraki was docked at the tribunal on a 13-count charge bordering false declaration of assets and money laundering to which he pleaded not guilty.

He challenged his trial at both Federal High Court and the Supreme Court which ruled that he had a case to answer at the CCT.

He went to the Appeal Court again to challenge his trial but the court ruled today that he must face trial at the tribunal.
